North Avalon

29 December 2002.

Before I got the underwater case for my camera, I did a dive here. I'll have to look for the pictures I took of the beach, but the dive itself was a bit rougher than most I'd done. I logged the dive with the following notes. "High Surge, and rip tides. The site was a long walk, but not a difficult one. We only went out about 50m past the entry then swam back to shore. The surf was extremely rough, and I was completely exhausted by the time I got out." The part that I didn't have in the log was that I dove with Kevin on the dive, and he was standing on the shore watching me climb out on all fours. He told me I broke the first rule of diving, "always look good." I know I wasn't looking too good, but at that point I really didn't care.
